W4: Business Plan“Business Plan”: Business models: innovation in value extraction. The VC Business model. Venture finance. Importance & basic components of a business plan (business description: product description and management and operations), giving information about the present and future of your business, designing a marketing plan (marketing mix, market research & competitive analysis) and doing financial calculations.  Designing a business plan. VE: DST Brainstorming session: sharing information & the NGO’s website info, etc. Talking about things found and learnt about  topic & decide on the product or social initiative which is going to improve a social challenge related to the topic dealt with the NGO or entrepreneur. W5: First draft of digital story script “Digital story script” worksheet. Writing the fist draft of the script (450-500 words) for digital story COLLABORATIVELY, about social initiative/product/service/app, outlining technical aspects of  idea (based on business plan),  exchanging feedback. Introducing improvements to script based on teacher’s and classmates’ comments and uploading it.  Choosing software and audiovisual resources for DST, compiling them in a shared folder.  VE: 2nd Synchronous Discussion  (HOME ACTIVITY): INSTRUCTIONS: 20 minutes. W8: Business pitches, Part 1“ORAL PRESENTATIONS: Business pitches”, Part 1: Pitching fundamentals. “Attracting Investors”: ways to get the capital needed to implement a business plan, traditional funding sources (bootstrapping, microfinancing and venture capital) & crowdfunding. “Pitching”: how to make a persuasive elevator pitch.  Preparing your oral presentations Part 1: Common pitfalls & how to overcome them, structure of an oral presentation & useful vocabulary.  1) Preparing visuals for oral presentations.
